Ultimate Chopped Italian Sandwich (Deli-Style, Loaded & Bold!)

Savory, tangy, crunchy, cheesy—this sandwich hits every craving at once.

Ingredients (1 large sandwich / easily doubled)

Meats & Cheese

4 slices deli ham, chopped

4 slices salami, chopped

4 slices pepperoni, chopped

2 slices provolone cheese, chopped or torn

Veggies

¼ cup shredded iceberg or romaine lettuce

2 tablespoons red onion, finely diced

2 tablespoons banana peppers, chopped (mild or hot)

Dressing & Bread

2 tablespoons Italian dressing (creamy or vinaigrette-style)

1 hoagie roll or sub roll, sliced lengthwise

Instructions

1️⃣ Prep the Chopped Filling

On a large cutting board, add the ham, salami, pepperoni, and provolone.

Chop everything together until bite-sized and evenly mixed—this is key to flavor in every bite.

2️⃣ Add the Crunch & Tang

Add lettuce, red onion, and banana peppers to the chopped meats.

Drizzle with Italian dressing.

Chop and fold everything together again until fully combined and lightly coated.

Tip: Don’t overdo the dressing—add a little at a time so it doesn’t get soggy.

3️⃣ Prepare the Roll

Open the hoagie roll and lightly toast it (optional but recommended for texture).

For extra flavor, you can spread a thin layer of:

mayo

olive oil

or a touch of Italian dressing inside the bread

4️⃣ Assemble

Pile the chopped Italian mixture generously into the roll.

Press gently, slice in half, and serve immediately.

Optional Add-Ins (Highly Recommended!)

Diced tomatoes

Chopped black or green olives

A pinch of garlic powder or oregano

Crushed red pepper flakes

Extra provolone or mozzarella

Make It Even Better

Warm version: After assembling, wrap in foil and heat in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for 8–10 minutes.

Party tray: Serve the chopped filling as a dip with toasted bread or sliders.

Low-carb: Skip the bread and serve over chopped lettuce as an Italian chopped salad.
