Ingredients
100 g dark chocolate, chopped
2 large eggs
2–3 tablespoons caramel sauce, plus extra for drizzling
¼ cup milk
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Optional Add-Ins
¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Flaky sea salt, for garnish
Instructions
1. Melt the Chocolate
Place the dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely melted and smooth. Alternatively, melt it gently using a double boiler.
2. Prepare the Wet Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, caramel sauce, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
3. Combine with Chocolate
Slowly pour the melted chocolate into the wet ingredients, whisking continuously until the mixture is glossy and fully incorporated.
4. Add the Dry Ingredients
Sift in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gently fold until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
5. Fold in Chocolate
Stir in the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate. If using nuts, fold them in at this stage.
Cooking Methods
Skillet Method
Lightly grease a small nonstick skillet or heavy-bottomed pan.
Pour the batter into the skillet and spread evenly.
Cover with a tight-fitting lid.
Cook over very low heat for 15–20 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center remains slightly soft.
Oven Method
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Grease a small baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
Pour in the batter and smooth the top.
Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the top is set but the center is still fudgy.
To Serve
Allow the brownie to cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Drizzle generously with extra caramel sauce and sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.
Serve warm with:
A scoop of vanilla ice cream
Fresh berries
A dollop of whipped cream
Tips for the Perfect Brownie
Do not overbake; a slightly underdone center creates the best fudgy texture.
For extra richness, use high-quality dark chocolate.
Add a swirl of caramel on top before baking for a beautiful marbled effect.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat briefly before serving.
A warm, gooey slice of this brownie is pure comfort—especially when topped with melting ice cream and a silky caramel drizzle.
