Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches

Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 8 slices brioche or challah bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for frying
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional but recommended)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced (or strawberry jam)
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Make the Cheesecake Filling
In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  2. Assemble the Sandwiches
Spread a generous layer of the cheesecake mixture onto 4 slices of brioche.
Top each with a spoonful of diced strawberries (or a thin layer of strawberry jam).
Place the remaining bread slices on top to form sandwiches.
  3. Prepare the Egg Mixture
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg and milk to create a custard-style dip.
  4. Cinnamon-Sugar Coating
In a separate small bowl, stir together the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
  5. Dip the Sandwiches
Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Quickly dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides lightly.
  6. Fry the Sandwiches
Cook the sandwiches in the butter for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crisp.
  7. Coat in Cinnamon Sugar
While still warm, remove each sandwich and lightly press both sides into the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  8. Serve
Slice in half and serve warm.
Optional: Dust with extra powdered sugar or drizzle with strawberry syrup.

Tips

  • For extra richness, use thick-cut brioche.
  • You can swap strawberries for blueberries, peaches, or mixed berries.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture.
