Ingredients
1 package frozen cheddar pierogies
450 g smoked sausage or kielbasa, sliced
1 large onion, thinly sliced
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon paprika
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Lightly grease the slow cooker with butter or cooking spray.
Add the sliced onions to the bottom of the slow cooker. Layer the sausage and frozen pierogies on top.
Pour in the melted butter and chicken broth. Sprinkle with garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.
Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours, until the pierogies are tender and the flavors are perfectly blended.
During the last 20 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top and cover again until melted.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with sour cream if desired.
