Ingredients

2 lbs (900g) beef stew meat, cut into bite-sized pieces

1 medium onion, sliced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup beef broth

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon dried rosemary

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons butter, cubed

2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons cold water

 

 

 

 

Instructions

Place the sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Add the beef bites on top of the onions.

In a bowl, whisk together the beef broth, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, thyme, rosemary, Italian seasoning, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Pour the mixture over the beef and gently stir to coat.

Dot the top with the cubed butter.

Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the beef is fork-tender.

About 20 minutes before serving, mix the cornstarch and cold water to create a slurry.

Stir the slurry into the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for an additional 15–20 minutes, or until the gravy thickens.

Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
