Every bite delivers a delicious combination of crispy layers, smoky ham, and gooey cheese that everyone will love!
Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry (about 250 g / 9 oz), thawed
150 g (5 oz) ham, thinly sliced or diced
150 g (5 oz) cheddar, mozzarella, or Gruyère cheese, grated
1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Optional Add-Ins
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
¼ teaspoon black pepper
A pinch of garlic powder
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Roll out the puff pastry slightly on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 4–6 equal rectangles.
Place a portion of the ham and grated cheese onto one half of each rectangle, leaving a small border around the edges.
If desired, add a little Dijon mustard, parsley, or seasoning for extra flavor.
Fold the pastry over the filling to create pockets. Press the edges together with a fork to seal.
Transfer the pockets to the prepared baking tray. Brush the tops generously with the beaten egg.
Cut a small slit in the top of each pocket to allow steam to escape while baking.
Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and deeply golden brown.
Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
