Golden Beef & Cheddar Crescent Bake

Golden Beef & Cheddar Crescent Bake

A cozy, crowd-pleasing casserole that has been a backyard gathering favorite for years! With just four simple ingredients, this easy beef crescent bake comes together with minimal effort but tastes like you spent all afternoon in the kitchen. Savory seasoned ground beef, gooey melted cheddar, and buttery crescent roll dough bake into a golden, flaky casserole that’s perfect for family dinners, potlucks, and summer get-togethers.

Ingredients

– 1 lb ground beef (80–90% lean)

– 1 (1 oz) packet dry onion soup mix

– 2 (8 oz) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough

– 2 cups shredded mild or medium cheddar cheese

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch glass baking dish.

2. Cook the beef:

Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.

3. Season the beef:

Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix over the cooked beef and stir well until evenly combined.

4. Create the bottom crust:

Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and gently press the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Pinch together any seams as much as possible.

5. Add the filling:

Spread the seasoned ground beef evenly over the crescent dough. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the top.

6. Add the top crust:

Unroll the second can of crescent dough and carefully place it over the cheese. Pinch the seams together and gently stretch the dough if needed to cover the filling.

7. Bake:

Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the crescent crust is puffed and beautifully golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

8. Rest and serve:

Let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing into squares. Serve warm and enjoy!

Helpful Tips

– For extra flavor, use a blend of cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese.

– Add a layer of sautéed onions or mushrooms if you want to stretch the recipe.

– Let the casserole rest briefly after baking so it slices more neatly.

– Serve it with a simple green salad, coleslaw, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.

This easy four-ingredient casserole is the kind of recipe that disappears fast—especially when served warm straight from the oven!
