Watermelon Moonshine
Cool off with the refreshing taste of Watermelon Moonshine!
Ingredients:
4 cups fresh watermelon, cubed
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup lime juice
4 cups water
1 liter 190 proof grain alcohol (such as Everclear)
1 liter watermelon vodka
Mason jars for storage
Instructions:
Prepare the Watermelon Syrup:
In a large pot, combine the fresh watermelon, granulated sugar, lime juice, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the watermelon is soft and the sugar is dissolved.
Cool the Mixture:
Remove the pot from heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature.
Blend and Strain:
Using a blender, blend the watermelon mixture until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove any solids, ensuring a smooth syrup.
Mix the Moonshine:
In a large pitcher or bowl, combine the watermelon syrup, grain alcohol, and watermelon vodka. Stir well to combine.
Store the Moonshine:
Pour the moonshine into mason jars, sealing tightly. Let it sit for at least a week to allow the flavors to meld.
Serve:
Serve chilled or over ice.
