DEEP HAMBURGER BEEF SAUSAGE & PEPPERONI PIE

 

 

Ingredients:

 

For the Foundation:

 

1 box ready-bake pie crusts (2 crusts)

 

3 tablespoons melted butter

 

For the Meat Filling:

 

1/2 pound ground beef

 

1/2 pound beef sausage

 

1 cup beef pepperoni slices

 

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

 

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

 

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

 

For the Cheese and Sauce:

 

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

 

1 cup shredded cheddar or provolone cheese

 

1 1/2 cups pizza sauce or marinara

 

 

 

Directions:

 

1️⃣ Prepare the Meat:

 

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and beef sausage, cooking until browned and fully cooked, about 8–10 minutes. Drain any excess fat and set aside to cool slightly.

 

2️⃣ Prepare the Crust:

 

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a deep-dish pie pan or oven-safe skillet lightly with butter. Unroll one pie crust and press it into the pan, making sure it reaches up the sides without tearing.

 

3️⃣ Layer the Flavors:

 

Sprinkle half the mozzarella cheese over the crust. Add the cooked meat mixture evenly on top. Layer half the pepperoni slices, then spoon the pizza sauce over the surface. Sprinkle Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes (if desired).

 

4️⃣ Add the Final Layers:

 

Top with the remaining mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, followed by the rest of the pepperoni slices. Place the second crust over the top, sealing the edges by crimping them together. Cut 4–5 small slits in the top crust for steam to escape.

 

5️⃣ Brush and Bake:

 

Brush the top crust with melted butter. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. If the edges brown too quickly, cover them with foil.

 

6️⃣ Cool and Serve:

 

Allow the pie to rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. This helps the layers set perfectly for serving.
