Perfect for family dinners, holidays, or whenever you want something cozy and satisfying on the table. Every spoonful delivers buttery garlic notes, smooth creaminess, and that irresistible cheesy crust straight from the oven.
Ingredients
5–6 medium potatoes (peeled or skin-on, sliced)
2 cups heavy cream (or cooking cream)
3–4 garlic cloves (minced)
1 ½ cups grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella (optional for extra melt)
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon paprika (optional for color)
1 teaspoon dried thyme or parsley
Instructions
Prepare the potatoes:
Slice the potatoes evenly so they cook at the same rate. Lightly season with salt and pepper.
Make the creamy garlic sauce:
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Pour in the cream and stir gently. Add half of the Parmesan cheese and mix until smooth and slightly thickened.
Assemble the dish:
Place the potato slices in a greased baking dish, layering them evenly. Pour the creamy garlic sauce over the potatoes, making sure everything is well coated.
Add the cheese topping:
Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese on top, followed by mozzarella if using.
Bake to perfection:
Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) for 45–55 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden and bubbling.
Finish and serve:
Let it rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley for a fresh touch.
Serving Tip
Serve warm as a side dish with roasted chicken, grilled steak, or baked fish. It also works beautifully as a stand-alone comfort food dish on cozy nights.
Creamy, cheesy, and full of garlic flavor—this is the kind of recipe that disappears fast from the table.
