No-Knead Perfect Bread

A simple homemade bread with a soft inside and lightly crispy crust — no kneading required.

 

 

 

Ingredients

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon dry yeast

250 ml (1 cup) lukewarm water

450 g (about 3½ cups) all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for a softer crumb)

 

 

 

Instructions

1️⃣ Activate the Yeast

In a large bowl, combine lukewarm water, sugar, and dry yeast.

Stir lightly and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until the mixture becomes foamy.

2️⃣ Make the Dough

Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture.

Add olive oil if using.

Mix with a spoon or spatula until a sticky dough forms.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a towel.

3️⃣ Let the Dough Rise

Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours, or until it doubles in size.

4️⃣ Shape the Dough

Lightly flour your hands and work surface.

Gently shape the dough into a round loaf or oval loaf.

Place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Cover and let it rest for 20–30 minutes.

5️⃣ Bake the Bread

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Score the top of the dough with a sharp knife (optional).

Bake for 30–35 minutes until the bread is golden brown.

6️⃣ Cool Before Slicing

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a rack for 15–20 minutes before slicing.

Tips for Perfect Bread

Water should be warm, not hot (about 40°C / 105°F).

If the dough feels too sticky, sprinkle a little extra flour.

For a crispier crust, place a small pan of hot water in the oven while baking.
