Slow Cooker Beef & Noodles (4-Ingredient Comfort Meal)

Slow Cooker Beef & Noodles (4-Ingredient Comfort Meal)

Ingredients (Serves 6)

2 ½ lb (1.1 kg) beef stew meat, cut into chunks

2 cans (10.5 oz / ~300 g each) condensed cream of mushroom soup

1 packet (1 oz / ~28 g) dry onion soup mix

12 oz (340 g) wide egg noodles (uncooked)

Instructions

1. Layer the beef

Add the beef chunks to a 5–6 quart slow cooker.

Spread them in an even layer so they cook evenly.

2. Make the sauce

In a medium bowl, whisk together:

Cream of mushroom soup

Onion soup mix

Mix until smooth and fully combined.

3. Coat the beef

Pour the mixture over the beef.

Spread it so all the meat is coated.

Do not add water — the beef will release enough liquid while cooking.

4. Slow cook

Cover and cook:

LOW: 7–8 hours

HIGH: 3½–4 hours

The beef should be very tender and easy to break apart.

The sauce will become thick, glossy, and rich.

5. Add the noodles

About 30 minutes before serving:

Stir the beef and break up large pieces

Add the uncooked egg noodles

Gently press them down so they’re mostly covered in sauce

6. Finish cooking

Cover and cook on HIGH for 20–30 minutes

Stir once halfway through

Noodles should be tender and coated in thick sauce

7. Final touch

Give everything a final stir

Taste and add a little salt and black pepper if needed

Serve hot while it’s steaming and saucy

Serving Ideas

Sprinkle with black pepper and chopped parsley

Serve with:

Fresh green salad

Steamed green beans

Bread or dinner rolls

For a heartier meal: serve over mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables

Tips & Variations

Make it lighter or kid-friendly

Use cream of chicken soup instead of mushroom

Or do half mushroom + half chicken

Adjust the sauce

Want it thinner?

→ Add ½–¾ cup beef broth or water

Want it richer?

→ Stir in ¼–½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt at the end

Add veggies (optional)

Serve over:

Steamed peas

Carrots

Mixed vegetables

Pro Tips

Stir gently after adding noodles so they don’t stick

If sauce gets too thick → add a splash of warm liquid

Leftovers taste even better the next day!
