Slow Cooker Million Dollar Pasta (5 Ingredients)

Slow Cooker Million Dollar Pasta (5 Ingredients)

Ingredients (Serves 6)

1 lb (450 g) dried pasta (ziti, penne, or rotini)

1 jar (24 oz / ~700 g) marinara or tomato pasta sauce

8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened & cubed

2 cups (about 200–250 g) shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

1 lb (450 g) ground Italian sausage or ground beef, browned & drained

Instructions

1. Cook the meat

In a skillet over medium heat:

Cook the ground sausage or beef until browned

Drain excess fat

Set aside

2. Cook the pasta (slightly underdone)

Boil pasta in salted water

Cook until just al dente (slightly firm)

Drain and set aside

This prevents mushy pasta in the slow cooker

3. Build the base

Lightly grease a 4–6 quart slow cooker

Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom

4. Layer ingredients

Add half of the pasta

Top with:

Half of the cooked meat

Half of the remaining sauce

Half of the cream cheese cubes

About 1 cup mozzarella

5. Repeat layers

Add remaining pasta

Add remaining meat

Pour over the rest of the sauce

Scatter remaining cream cheese

6. Slow cook

Cover and cook:

LOW: 3–4 hours

(Avoid HIGH to keep it creamy, not dry)

7. Final cheesy topping

Sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese on top

Cover and cook another 10–15 minutes until melted

8. Rest & serve

Let sit 10 minutes before serving

This helps the layers set and become extra creamy
