Cherry Cobbler Moonshine Recipe
Juicy cherries, rich syrup, a hint of vanilla and spice — Cherry Cobbler Moonshine is pure dessert-in-a-jar magic.It’s a gorgeous, deep red drink that tastes just as good as it looks.
Ingredients
2 cans dark sweet cherries in heavy syrup (15 oz each)
1 cup cherry juice
1 cup white sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups water
2 cups Everclear
Optional: 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (for classic cobbler flavor)Equipment
Stockpot
Fine mesh strainer
Mason jars or bottles
Instructions
Step 1: Make the Cherry Syrup
In a stockpot, combine cherries (with syrup), cherry juice, water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks.
Simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring gently.Step 2: Add Vanilla and Almond
Turn off the heat and stir in the vanilla extract (and almond extract if using).
Cool completely.
Step 3: Strain and Save
Strain the mixture into a pitcher or bowl, pressing lightly to extract maximum flavor.
Step 4: Add the Alcohol
Mix the cooled syrup with Everclear.Step 5: Bottle and Refrigerate
Pour into mason jars or glass bottles. Chill before drinking.
Storing and Serving
Refrigeration: Good for up to 3 months refrigerated.
Aging: Best after sitting for 1 week.
