When you don’t know what to cook but still want something warm, filling, and satisfying, this creamy mushroom beef bake is the answer. Made with just four simple ingredients, it turns everyday pantry staples into a rich, slow-baked dish with tender beef and a silky, savory gravy.
As it cooks low and slow, the mushroom soup and onion mix melt together into a deeply flavorful sauce that coats every bite. It’s effortless, cozy, and exactly the kind of meal you’ll come back to again and again.
Ingredients (Serves 4)
2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1–1½-inch cubes
2 (10.5-ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 (1-ounce) packet dry onion soup mix
½ cup water
Instructions
Preheat the Oven
Set your oven to 300°F (150°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch glass casserole dish.
Prepare the Beef
Spread the raw beef stew meat evenly in the dish, separating any clumps so it cooks evenly.
Mix the Sauce
In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, dry onion soup mix, and water. Stir until smooth and well blended.
Assemble
Pour the mixture evenly over the beef, making sure all the pieces are well coated.
Bake Low and Slow
Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 2½ to 3 hours, or until the beef is fork-tender and the sauce is thick and creamy.
Stir & Serve
Give it a gentle stir before serving to coat the beef in the rich gravy.
Serving Suggestions
