Creamy No-Bake Biscuit Custard Dessert

A silky, chilled dessert made with layers of soft biscuits and homemade vanilla custard. This easy no-bake treat is perfect for warm days, family gatherings, or whenever you want something sweet without turning on the oven.

 

 

 

Ingredients

For the Custard Cream

2 cups (500 ml) milk

3 tbsp cornstarch

4 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 egg yolks (optional, for extra richness)

2 tbsp butter

For the Layers

1 package plain tea biscuits or digestive biscuits

1 cup milk (for dipping biscuits lightly)

For Topping

Cocoa powder or grated chocolate

Crushed biscuits or nuts (optional)

Whipped cream (optional)

 

 

 

 

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Custard

In a saucepan, whisk together the milk, cornstarch, sugar, and egg yolks until smooth.

Place over medium heat and stir constantly until the mixture thickens into a creamy custard.

Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract.

Let the custard cool slightly while stirring occasionally to prevent a skin from forming.

Step 2: Prepare the Biscuit Layers

Pour the extra cup of milk into a shallow bowl.

Quickly dip each biscuit into the milk for 1–2 seconds. Do not soak them too long or they will become mushy.

Step 3: Assemble the Dessert

Arrange a layer of dipped biscuits in the bottom of a serving dish or tray.

Spread a layer of warm custard over the biscuits.

Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a custard layer on top.

Step 4: Chill

Refrigerate the dessert for at least 4 hours, or overnight for the best texture and flavor.
