Creamy Seafood Lasagna with Shrimp and Crab
Ingredients
Seafood Filling
1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 lb crab meat
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Cheese Mixture
15 oz ricotta cheese (or cottage cheese)
1 cup shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1 egg
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Salt & pepper to taste
Cream Sauce
4 tbsp butter
1/4 cup flour
2 1/2 cups milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup Parmesan
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt & pepper to taste
Pasta
12 lasagna noodles (boiled according to package directions)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Seafood
1. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
2. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Add shrimp, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook until shrimp turn pink (about 2–3 minutes).
4. Stir in the crab meat and parsley. Cook 1 minute more.
5. Remove from heat and roughly chop the shrimp if large. Set aside.
2. Make the Cream Sauce
1. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
2. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
3. Slowly add milk and heavy cream, whisking continuously until smooth and thickened.
4. Add mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, and onion powder.
5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
6. Simmer on low for 3–5 minutes until creamy. Remove from heat.
3. Mix the Cheese Layer
1. In a bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, lemon juice, parsley, salt, and pepper.
2. Mix until smooth and creamy.
4. Assemble the Lasagna
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Spread a thin layer of cream sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
3. Add 3 lasagna noodles.
4. Spread a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture.
5. Add a layer of the seafood mixture.
6. Drizzle with cream sauce.
7. Repeat layers (noodles → ricotta → seafood → sauce) until all ingredients are used.
8. Finish with noodles topped generously with cream sauce and extra mozzarella + Parmesan.
5. Bake
1. Cover the dish with foil and bake 25 minutes.
2. Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
3. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting to set the layers.
6. Serve
Sprinkle with extra parsley and serve warm.
Perfect with garlic bread or a fresh green salad.
