This grilled shrimp with spicy mustard sauce is a quick, flavorful dish that works perfectly as an appetizer or a light main meal. The shrimp cook in just a few minutes on the grill and pair beautifully with a bold, tangy mustard sauce with a little heat.

Ingredients

For the Shrimp

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon paprika

Juice of ½ lemon

For the Spicy Mustard Sauce

3 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon whole-grain mustard (optional but adds texture)

1 tablespoon honey

1 teaspoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small garlic clove, finely minced

Pinch of salt

 

 

 

 

Instructions

1. Prepare the Shrimp

Rinse the shrimp and pat them dry with paper towels.

Place them in a bowl and add olive oil, garlic powder, salt, pepper, paprika, and lemon juice.

Toss well until all shrimp are coated.

Let them marinate for about 10–15 minutes.

2. Make the Spicy Mustard Sauce

In a small bowl combine Dijon mustard, whole-grain mustard, honey, hot sauce, lemon juice, olive oil, and minced garlic.

Whisk until smooth and well blended.

Taste and adjust spice or sweetness if needed.

Refrigerate until ready to serve.

3. Grill the Shrimp

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F / 200°C).

Thread shrimp onto skewers or place directly on a grill basket.

Grill shrimp 2–3 minutes per side until they turn pink and slightly charred.

Remove from the grill immediately to avoid overcooking.

 

 

 

 

4. Serve

Arrange shrimp on a platter.

Serve with the spicy mustard sauce on the side for dipping or drizzle lightly over the shrimp.

Garnish with fresh parsley or lemon wedges if desired.
