Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)

1 cup packed brown sugar

½ cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

 

 

 

Directions

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until it turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let it cool for 10–15 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and well combined.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.

Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Cover and chill the dough for at least 30 minutes for thicker, chewier cookies.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
