Vanilla & Chocolate Swirl Cookies

Vanilla & Chocolate Swirl Cookies
These delightful cookies combine the best of both worlds — rich chocolate and classic vanilla — in one soft, marbled treat. Perfect for when you can’t choose between the two!
Ingredients
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp (30ml) milk (optional, for a softer dough)
- 2 tbsp (15g) cocoa powder
- ¾ cup (135g) chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
Set your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper. - Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. - Cream the Butter and Sugar
In another large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth and creamy. - Divide the Dough
Split the dough into two equal portions.
Leave one plain for the vanilla dough, and add cocoa powder to the other portion for the chocolate dough. Mix each well. - Add Chocolate Chips
Gently fold the chocolate chips or chunks into both doughs. - Create the Swirl Effect
Drop spoonfuls of vanilla and chocolate dough alternately onto the prepared tray.
Use a skewer or fork to lightly swirl them together for a marbled look. - Bake
Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft. - Cool and Serve
Let the cookies cool on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tip: For extra indulgence, drizzle melted chocolate over the cooled cookies or sprinkle with sea salt before serving.
