Ingredients:

4–6 chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, or breasts)

1 cup buttermilk

1 egg

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 tbsp cornstarch (for extra crispiness)

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp dried thyme

½ tsp black pepper

1 tsp salt

½ tsp chili powder (optional, for a little heat)

Cooking spray or a light brush of oil

 

 

 

 

Instructions:

Marinate the chicken:

In a bowl, mix buttermilk and egg. Add the chicken pieces, making sure they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (overnight for best flavor).

Prepare the coating:

In another bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, and all the spices. Mix well to evenly distribute the seasoning.

Coat the chicken:

Remove chicken from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing gently so the coating sticks well.

Preheat the air fryer:

Set your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for about 3–5 minutes.

Cook to crispy perfection:

Lightly spray the chicken with cooking spray. Place in the air fryer basket in a single layer (don’t overcrowd). Cook for 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and fully cooked.

Serve hot:

Let the chicken rest for a couple of minutes before serving to keep it juicy inside.
