Ingredients

For the Puff Pastry Twists

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed if frozen

2 cloves garlic, minced

100 g cream cheese, softened

50 g grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite cheese)

6–8 slices bacon, cooked crispy and chopped

1 boiled egg, finely chopped

½ teaspoon dried basil

Pinch of salt

1 egg yolk, beaten (for brushing)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

For the Kiwi Chamomile Drink

1 kiwi, peeled and sliced

1 cup water

1 chamomile tea bag (or dried chamomile flowers)

1 small cinnamon stick

Instructions

Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, grated cheese, minced garlic, chopped bacon, boiled egg, dried basil, and a pinch of salt.

Mix until creamy and well combined.

Assemble the Twists

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Roll out the puff pastry slightly and spread the filling evenly over one half.

Fold the pastry over the filling and gently press the edges.

Cut into strips and twist each strip several times to create beautiful pastry spirals.

Place them on the prepared tray.

Brush with beaten egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Bake

Bake for 18–22 minutes or until the pastry is puffed, crispy, and deeply golden.

Let cool slightly before serving.

Kiwi Chamomile Pairing

Bring the water and cinnamon stick to a gentle boil.

Remove from heat and steep the chamomile tea for 5 minutes.

Add fresh kiwi slices and let the flavors infuse for another 2 minutes.

Serve warm for a calming, lightly fruity drink that pairs perfectly with the savory pastry twists.
