Slow Cooker 3-Ingredient Brown Ale Pork Chops

Slow Cooker 3-Ingredient Brown Ale Pork Chops
Servings: 4
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 6–8 hours (LOW) or 3–4 hours (HIGH)
Ingredients
4 thick-cut bone-in pork chops (about 2–2½ pounds total)
1 packet (1.5 oz) dry onion soup mix
1 bottle (12 oz) brown ale beer
Instructions
Prepare the pork chops
Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. This helps them cook better and prevents excess moisture.
Arrange in the slow cooker
Place the pork chops in a single layer at the bottom of a 4–6 quart slow cooker.
Slight overlapping is fine.
Season
Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix evenly over the pork chops. Let some fall around the sides so the cooking liquid gets seasoned too.
Add the ale
Slowly pour the brown ale into the slow cooker, aiming around the edges so the soup mix stays mostly on the chops.
Cook
Cover and cook:
LOW: 6–8 hours
HIGH: 3–4 hours
The pork chops are ready when the meat is very tender and starts pulling away from the bone.
Remove carefully
Use tongs or a wide spatula to lift the pork chops out since they will be very soft.
Serve with sauce
Spoon some of the rich brown ale and onion gravy from the slow cooker over the pork chops before serving.
Optional: Thicker Gravy
If you want thicker sauce:
Pour some cooking liquid into a saucepan.
Simmer on the stove for 5–10 minutes until slightly reduced.
Pour it back over the pork chops.
Serving Ideas
Serve these tender pork chops with:
Mashed potatoes
Egg noodles
Buttered rice
Roasted carrots or green beans
Crusty bread or dinner rolls to soak up the gravy
Tips & Variations
Use a mild brown ale for a sweeter flavor.
A nut brown ale or mild porter adds deeper roasted flavor.
For a non-alcohol version, substitute:
1 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons apple juice.
Stir in 1 tablespoon butter at the end for extra richness.
Leftovers can be shredded and used in sandwiches the next day.
