Ingredients (Makes 4 calzones)

1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup ricotta cheese

1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup pizza sauce (plus extra for dipping)

½ cup cooked fillings (pepperoni, mushrooms, sausage, or veggies)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal portions and roll each into a circle.

Spread a spoonful of ricotta onto one half of each circle, leaving space around the edges.

Add mozzarella, a little pizza sauce, and your favorite fillings.

Fold the dough over to form a half-moon shape. Press and seal the edges היט—use a fork to crimp if needed.

Brush the tops with beaten egg and lightly drizzle with olive oil.

Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.

Cut a small slit on top of each calzone to allow steam to escape.

Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.

Serving Suggestions

Serve hot with warm pizza sauce on the side for dipping. Add a fresh green salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
