Ingredients:
4–5 large lemons (preferably organic)
2 cups granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
2 cups water
1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional, for extra aroma)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (to enhance flavor)
Instructions:
Prepare the lemons Wash the lemons well. Peel them carefully and remove seeds. Slice the pulp into small pieces.
Reduce bitterness (optional but recommended) Boil the lemon slices in water for 5–10 minutes, then drain. Repeat once if you prefer a milder taste.
Cook the jam In a pot, combine lemons, water, and sugar. Stir well and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
Simmer slowly Lower the heat and let it simmer for 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally until the mixture thickens and becomes glossy.
Check consistency Place a small drop on a cold plate—if it gels slightly, it’s ready.
Finish & store Add lemon juice and zest, stir, then pour into sterilized jars while hot. Let it cool completely.
