Slow Cooker 4-Ingredient Amish Meatball Noodles

Slow Cooker 4-Ingredient Amish Meatball Noodles

This Amish-style meatball noodles dish is the perfect no-stress comfort meal. Frozen meatballs slowly simmer in savory brown gravy, and wide egg noodles cook right in the sauce so they soak up all the flavor. The result is a rich, hearty supper that feels homemade but requires very little work.

Servings

6 servings

Ingredients (Only 4)

2 pounds frozen fully cooked beef meatballs

2 (10.5-ounce) cans condensed beef gravy or brown gravy

2 cups beef broth

12 ounces uncooked wide egg noodles

Directions

Add the meatballs

Place the frozen meatballs in the bottom of a 5–6 quart slow cooker, spreading them in an even layer.

Pour in the sauce

Add the condensed beef gravy and beef broth over the meatballs. Stir gently so everything is coated.

Slow cook

Cover and cook:

LOW: 4–5 hours

HIGH: 2–3 hours

until the meatballs are hot and the gravy is bubbling.

Prepare for noodles

About 35–45 minutes before serving, stir the sauce.

If the gravy is too thick, add a splash of hot water.

If it is too thin, leave the lid slightly open for about 10 minutes.

Add the noodles

Stir the uncooked egg noodles directly into the slow cooker. Make sure they are mostly submerged in the gravy.

Cook the noodles

Cover and cook on HIGH for 20–30 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until noodles are tender.

Finish the dish

Stir everything well so the noodles are coated with the thickened gravy and the meatballs are evenly distributed.

Rest before serving

Turn the slow cooker to WARM and let sit for 5–10 minutes so the noodles absorb even more flavor.

What to Serve With It

To balance the rich gravy, serve with something fresh:

Green salad with vinaigrette

Cucumber and onion salad

Steamed green beans with lemon

Warm dinner rolls or buttered bread

Applesauce (a traditional Amish side)

Variations & Tips

Extra flavor: Brown the frozen meatballs in a skillet for a few minutes before adding them to the slow cooker.

Thicker gravy: Leave the lid slightly open during the last 10 minutes of cooking.

Softer noodles: Let the dish sit on WARM for 10–15 extra minutes after cooking.

Heartier texture: Use extra-wide egg noodles for a more traditional Amish feel.

Quick summary:

Minimal prep, only 4 ingredients, and the slow cooker does most of the work—making this a perfect cozy weekend family dinner.
