Golden Crispy Potato & Rice Sticks

Crunchy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside!

 

 

 

Ingredients

3 potatoes, peeled and cubed

1 cup cooked rice

5 tablespoons corn starch (or corn flour)

Oregano, to taste

Minced fresh parsley, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

Salt, to taste

Frying oil (huile de friture)

Preparation

Cook the potatoes

Boil the cubed potatoes in salted water until soft. Drain well and mash them until smooth.

Mix the base

In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes with the cooked rice. Mix well until evenly combined.

Season the mixture

Add oregano, parsley, black pepper, and salt. Stir until the flavor is well distributed.

Add crispiness

Mix in the corn starch gradually. This will help bind the mixture and give the sticks their crispy texture.

 

 

 

Shape the sticks

Take small portions and shape them into sticks or fingers using your hands.

Fry until golden

Heat frying oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the sticks until golden brown and crispy on all sides.

Serve and enjoy

Drain on paper towels and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Tip: For extra crunch, you can double-fry them or chill the shaped sticks for 20 minutes before frying.
