Very Cherry Moonshine

Very Cherry Moonshine
A sweet, fruity, and boozy treat perfect for sipping straight, mixing into cocktails, or gifting in a jar.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 cups water
- 1 cinnamon stick (optional for extra flavor)
- 2 cups high-proof neutral spirit (Moonshine, Everclear, or vodka)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Cherries: Wash and pit fresh cherries, or thaw frozen ones if needed.
- Make the Cherry Syrup: In a medium pot, combine water, sugar, cherries, and the cinnamon stick (if using). Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Simmer and Infuse: Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for 5–7 minutes until the cherries release their flavor and the syrup slightly thickens. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
- Add the Alcohol: Once cooled, stir in the Moonshine, Everclear, or vodka. Mix thoroughly to combine.
- Infuse Flavors: Transfer the mixture into a clean jar or bottle, seal tightly, and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours. This allows the cherry flavors to fully develop.
- Strain (Optional): If desired, strain out most of the cherries and the cinnamon stick before long-term storage to prevent breakdown and cloudiness.
- Serve: Pour over ice, sip from a mason jar, or use in cocktails. Enjoy responsibly!
Storage Tip: Store in a cool, dark place for up to several months.
