4-Ingredient Baked Bean Hot Dog Bake

4-Ingredient Baked Bean Hot Dog Bake
Servings: 4
Description
This simple baked bean and hot dog casserole is a classic comfort meal inspired by depression-era cooking, when families had to make the most of limited ingredients. It’s salty, slightly sweet, hearty, and surprisingly satisfying for such a budget-friendly dish. Everything cooks together in one dish, creating a thick, rich, and cozy meal with caramelized edges on the hot dogs that add extra flavor.
Ingredients
2 cans (about 400 g each) baked beans
6–8 hot dogs, sliced into rounds
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Prepare the dish:
Lightly grease a casserole dish or baking pan.
Mix the base:
In the dish, combine the baked beans, brown sugar, and mustard. Stir well until evenly mixed.
Add the hot dogs:
Stir in the sliced hot dogs, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the beans.
Bake:
Place the dish in the oven and bake for 30–40 minutes, or until the beans are hot, thick, and bubbling, and the hot dogs are slightly caramelized on the edges.
Serve:
Let it cool for a few minutes, then serve warm straight from the dish.
