1 cup (100 g) shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional, for extra flavor)
1 tablespoon mayonnaise (optional)
1 egg (for egg wash)
1 teaspoon dried herbs (like oregano or Italian seasoning, optional)
Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Prepare the Pastry
Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the puff pastry slightly into a rectangle if needed.
Add the Filling
Spread a thin layer of mustard or mayonnaise over the pastry (if using).
Arrange the ham slices evenly across the surface.
Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top, covering the ham.
Add dried herbs if desired.
Roll and Slice
Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the pastry into a log.
Slice into rounds about 1.5–2 cm (½–¾ inch) thick.
Prepare for Baking
Place the pinwheels flat on the prepared baking tray, leaving space between them.
Beat the egg and brush it lightly over each pinwheel.
Sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if desired.
Bake
Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the pinwheels are puffed, golden brown, and crispy.
Serve
Let them cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm!

Add a touch of honey mustard or a sprinkle of chili flakes for extra flavor.
You can swap ham with turkey or chicken slices.
