Grandma Jo’s Chocolate Strawberry Freezer Delight

Grandma Jo’s Chocolate Strawberry Freezer Delight

A creamy, no-fuss dessert with sweet nostalgia in every frosty bite

Grandma Jo used to call this her “minute dessert” — something she could whip up in no time and stash in the freezer for whenever guests showed up or a sweet craving hit. This chocolate strawberry freezer delight stays true to that spirit: quick to prepare, effortlessly delicious, and beautifully layered with creamy chocolate and fruity goodness.

Made with frozen strawberries, rich chocolate pudding, and fluffy whipped topping, this chilled dessert comes together in just minutes — then the freezer takes care of the rest. The result? A smooth, frosty treat with swirls of pink and chocolate that looks just as good as it tastes.

Ingredients

2 cups frozen strawberries (slightly thawed and chopped)

1 package (3.9 oz / 110g) instant chocolate pudding mix

1 ½ cups cold milk

1 container (8 oz / 225g) whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed

Optional: chocolate syrup, fresh strawberries for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the pudding:

In a medium bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes, until thickened.

Add the strawberries:

Gently fold in the chopped strawberries, making sure they’re evenly distributed.

Fold in whipped topping:

Add the whipped topping and fold everything together until smooth and creamy, with soft pink and chocolate swirls.

Transfer and freeze:

Spoon the mixture into a glass loaf dish or freezer-safe container. Smooth the top, cover, and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.

To Serve

Serve straight from the freezer for a firmer texture, or let it sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes for softer, scoopable swirls.

Top with fresh strawberries or drizzle with chocolate syrup for an extra touch.
