This cozy, restaurant-style beef and mushroom skillet is rich, creamy, and full of deep savory flavor. Tender strips of beef are seared until golden, then simmered in a silky garlic-herb cream sauce with mushrooms, onions, and a touch of Dijon for extra depth. It’s an easy one-pan dinner that feels comforting yet elegant enough for guests.

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds beef steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into thin strips

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons butter

1 medium onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

10 ounces mushrooms, sliced

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 cup beef broth

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup sour cream

Salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Pat the beef strips dry with paper towels and season well with salt and black pepper.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef in batches until browned on the outside. Remove and set aside.

Lower the heat to medium and add butter to the same skillet. Sauté the onion until soft and translucent.

Add garlic and mushrooms, cooking until the mushrooms release their moisture and turn golden brown.

Stir in paprika, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce, coating the vegetables evenly.

Pour in the beef broth, scraping up all the flavorful browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

Reduce the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Let the sauce simmer gently until it starts to thicken slightly.

Return the beef to the skillet and cook for a few minutes until warmed through and tender.

Stir in the sour cream on low heat until the sauce becomes smooth, creamy, and well blended.

Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and chives before serving.
