2 pounds (about 900 g) beef stew meat, cut into bite-size pieces
1 packet dry onion soup mix
1 packet brown gravy mix
1 can (10.5 oz / about 300 g) cream of mushroom soup
1 cup beef broth (or water)
Optional (for extra flavor)
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the slow cooker
Place the beef stew meat in the bottom of the slow cooker. Spread it out evenly.
2️⃣ Make the gravy mixture
In a medium bowl, whisk together:
Cream of mushroom soup
Beef broth (or water)
Onion soup mix
Brown gravy mix
Mix until smooth and well combined.
3️⃣ Combine
Pour the gravy mixture over the beef in the slow cooker.
Stir gently so the meat is coated in the sauce.
4️⃣ Cook
Cover with the lid and cook:
LOW: 7–8 hours (best for tender meat)
HIGH: 4–5 hours
Cook until the beef becomes very tender and easy to pull apart.
5️⃣ Final stir
Stir the beef and gravy before serving. The sauce will be thick, rich, and flavorful.
Serving Suggestions
Serve hot over:
Mashed potatoes
Steamed rice
Egg noodles
Buttered pasta
Add a side of green beans, roasted carrots, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
Tip:
