Cotton Candy Infused Spirit
To make a simple, home-infused cotton candy “moonshine” (flavored alcohol), you combine high-proof clear alcohol like Everclear with cotton candy and a few optional ingredients. This method involves infusion, not actual distillation, which requires specialized equipment and is regulated in many areas.
Ingredients
2 cups Everclear (or high-proof vodka)
¼ cup strawberry vodka (optional, for flavor depth)
2 tbsp simple syrup (adjust to desired sweetness)
1 container (approx. 1 large handful) of cotton candy (pink or blue)
Edible pearl dust or luster dust (optional, for a swirling, shimmery effect)
A large mason jar (at least 24 oz)
Instructions
Fill the jar: Place the cotton candy into the mason jar.
Combine liquids: In a separate pitcher or large glass, combine the Everclear, strawberry vodka (if using), and simple syrup. Stir well to mix.
Infuse: Pour the liquid mixture over the cotton candy in the mason jar. The cotton candy will dissolve almost immediately upon contact.
Seal and shake: Seal the jar tightly with its lid and shake vigorously to fully combine the ingredients.
Refrigerate: Place the jar in the refrigerator for a few days to a week to allow the flavors to infuse and mellow, shaking the jar every couple of days.
Add shimmer and serve: When ready to serve, sprinkle in the edible pearl dust (if desired) and shake the jar well to create a festive, swirling effect.
