The best part? Everything comes together in one dish, making it as easy as it is satisfying.

Servings: 4

Ingredients:

2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs

1 cup sour cream

1 (10.5-ounce) can cream of chicken soup

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika (plus extra for topping)

1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)

1/2 teaspoon salt (plus more to taste)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon melted butter

Directions:

Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a casserole dish.

Prepare the Chicken:

Arrange the chicken pieces in a single layer in the prepared baking dish. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

Make the Creamy Mixture:

In a medium bowl, mix together the sour cream, cream of chicken soup, 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder (if using), salt, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.

Assemble the Dish:

Spoon the creamy mixture evenly over the chicken, spreading it out to fully cover each piece.

Top & Bake:

Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese over the top and drizzle with melted butter. Add a light sprinkle of paprika for color.

Bake:

Bake uncovered for 35–45 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and the top is hot and bubbly with a light golden finish.

Rest & Serve:

Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the sauce to thicken slightly.

Serving Ideas:

Serve this creamy chicken over mashed potatoes, buttered egg noodles, or steamed rice to soak up the rich sauce. Pair it with green beans, a crisp salad, or sweet corn for a balanced plate.

For a cozy finishing touch, add warm dinner rolls on the side—and don’t forget something simple for dessert, like fresh fruit or brownies.
