Creamy Chicken Cannelloni Bake – Easy, Cheesy & Irresistible
Ingredients
12 cannelloni pasta sheets
2 cooked chicken breasts, shredded
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup tomato sauce
1 cup ricotta cheese or cream cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
For the Creamy Sauce
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
2 cups milk
A pinch of nutmeg
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onion until soft, then add the garlic and cook for another minute.
Add the shredded chicken, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well and cook for 3–4 minutes.
Remove from heat and mix in the ricotta cheese and half of the mozzarella.
Fill each cannelloni sheet with the chicken mixture and place them side by side in a greased baking dish.
To make the creamy sauce, melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth and thickened. Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
Pour the creamy sauce over the cannelloni. Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
