Golden Comfort Custard (3-Ingredient Low-Carb Delight)

This baked egg custard is one of those timeless treats. With only three ingredients, it transforms into a silky, lightly sweet custard with delicate golden edges and a hint of nutmeg aroma. Ingredients (Serves 4)

4 large eggs

2 cups (480 ml) heavy cream

1/3 cup low-carb sweetener (such as erythritol or monk fruit)

Optional: a pinch of ground nutmeg or cinnamon for topping

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Lightly grease small baking dishes or ramekins.

In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs until smooth and slightly frothy.

Add the cream and sweetener, then whisk until fully combined and silky.

Pour the mixture evenly into the prepared dishes.

Sprinkle a light pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon on top for extra warmth and flavor.

Place the dishes in a larger baking pan and fill the pan with hot water halfway up the sides (water bath).

Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the custard is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
