Ingredients
For the Cheese Filling
200 g (7 oz) cream cheese, softened
80 g (3 oz) feta cheese, crumbled
100 g (3.5 oz) aged cheese (cheddar or Parmesan), grated
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
2 teaspoons chili sauce
2 teaspoons ketchup
1½ teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
For the Pastry
600 g (1.3 lbs) puff pastry, thawed if frozen
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vinegar
150 ml (⅔ cup) vegetable oil or melted butter for brushing
Instructions
1. Prepare the Filling
In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, feta, grated cheese, garlic, parsley, chili sauce, ketchup, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
2. Prepare the Puff Pastry
Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the puff pastry sheets slightly to even the thickness.
3. Fill and Fold
Spread the cheese mixture evenly over one sheet of puff pastry. Place another sheet on top and gently press down.
4. Cut Into Strips
Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the pastry into long strips about 2 cm (¾ inch) wide.
5. Twist the Strips
Twist each strip several times and place them onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
6. Egg Wash
Whisk the egg with the vinegar and brush generously over the twists. Lightly brush the tops with vegetable oil or melted butter for extra crispiness.
7. Bake
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 18–22 minutes, or until beautifully golden brown and puffed.
