Grandma’s Cozy Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak Meatballs with Rich Mushroom Gravy

Tender, juicy meatballs simmered low and slow in a savory mushroom gravy that tastes just like a comforting meal from Grandma’s kitchen. Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

1½ lbs (680g) ground beef

½ cup breadcrumbs

1 large egg

¼ cup milk

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

For the Mushroom Gravy:

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

8 oz (225g) mushrooms, sliced

2 cups beef broth

1 packet brown gravy mix

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)

2 tbsp cornstarch

2 tbsp cold water

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

 

 

 

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

Roll the mixture into 1½-inch meatballs and place them in the slow cooker.

Add the sliced onions and mushrooms over the meatballs.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth, gravy mix, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Pour the mixture over the meatballs.

Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the meatballs are tender and fully cooked.

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and cold water to create a slurry. Stir it into the slow cooker during the last 20–30 minutes of cooking.

Cover and continue cooking until the gravy has thickened.

Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
