Grandma’s Melt-in-Your-Mouth Homemade Cookies
There’s nothing quite like the comforting taste of homemade cookies made from a treasured family recipe. These classic cookies are wonderfully soft, buttery, and incredibly easy to prepare. Perfect for afternoon tea, holiday gatherings, or whenever you’re craving a sweet homemade treat!
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
½ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
A pinch of salt
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking tray.
Gently flatten each cookie with the back of a fork or your hand.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Allow the cookies to cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Dust with powdered sugar if desired and enjoy!
Tips
Add chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or lemon zest for extra flavor.
Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
