This traditional homemade tonic combines five nutrient-rich ingredients that have been used for generations to support overall wellness. While it is not a cure or treatment for any disease, it may help support the immune system, aid digestion, and provide antioxidants that contribute to general health.

Ingredients

1 medium onion, peeled and chopped

1 whole garlic bulb (about 10–12 cloves), peeled

1 large piece fresh ginger (about 100 g / 3.5 oz), peeled and sliced

Juice of 2 large lemons

1 cup (240 ml) raw honey

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

Wash the ginger thoroughly and peel if desired. Peel the garlic cloves and onion, then chop them into smaller pieces.

Step 2: Blend

Place the onion, garlic, and ginger into a blender or food processor. Blend until finely minced or smooth.

Step 3: Add Lemon Juice

Pour in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and blend again until well combined.

Step 4: Mix with Honey

Transfer the mixture to a clean bowl or jar and stir in the honey until fully incorporated.

Step 5: Rest

Cover the jar and allow the mixture to sit for 12–24 hours in the refrigerator. This helps the flavors blend together.

Step 6: Strain (Optional)

For a smoother tonic, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth. If you prefer a stronger remedy, leave it unstrained.

How to Use

Adults: 1 tablespoon daily, preferably in the morning.

Can be mixed into warm (not boiling) water, herbal tea, or taken directly.

Store in a sealed glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 weeks.

Tips

Use raw, unprocessed honey for maximum flavor and nutritional value.

Do not add honey to boiling liquids, as excessive heat may affect its natural properties.

For a milder taste, increase the honey slightly.

For extra flavor, add a pinch of turmeric or a small amount of cinnamon.
