Oatmeal Slow Cooker Cream Biscuits (3 Ingredients)

Oatmeal Slow Cooker Cream Biscuits (3 Ingredients)

These slow cooker cream biscuits are soft, fluffy, and incredibly easy to make. With only three simple ingredients, they come together quickly and cook gently in the slow cooker, creating biscuits that are golden on top and tender inside—just the kind of recipe a grandma would proudly bring to Sunday dinner.

Servings: 10–12 biscuits

Ingredients

3 cups self-rising flour

2 to 2¼ cups cold heavy whipping cream

2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream (for brushing the tops)

Optional: A sprinkle of oats on top if you want an oatmeal-style finish.

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Slow Cooker

Cut a sheet of parchment paper large enough to line the bottom and slightly up the sides of a 5–6 quart slow cooker.

Lightly crumple the parchment, then flatten it and press it into the slow cooker.

This keeps the biscuits from sticking and makes them easy to remove after cooking.

2️⃣ Mix the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, add the self-rising flour.

Slowly pour in 2 cups of cold heavy cream.

Stir gently with a spoon or spatula until a soft dough forms.

If the dough looks too dry, add a little more cream (1–2 tablespoons at a time).

The dough should be soft and slightly sticky but easy to handle.

3️⃣ Shape the Biscuits

Lightly flour your work surface.

Turn the dough onto the surface and gently knead it 3–4 times just to bring it together.

Pat the dough into a rectangle about 1 inch thick.

Use a biscuit cutter or glass to cut out 10–12 biscuits.

4️⃣ Arrange in the Slow Cooker

Place the biscuits in the lined slow cooker so they are slightly touching.

Brush the tops with a little heavy cream to help them turn golden.

5️⃣ Cook the Biscuits

Cover the slow cooker with the lid.

Place a clean kitchen towel under the lid to catch condensation (optional but helpful).

Cook on HIGH for 1½–2 hours, or until the biscuits are set and lightly golden on top.

6️⃣ Serve

Carefully lift the parchment paper to remove the biscuits from the slow cooker.

Let them cool slightly, then serve warm.

Serving Ideas

These biscuits are delicious with:

Butter

Honey

Jam or fruit preserves

Sausage gravy

Scrambled eggs or roast dinner

They are soft enough to enjoy on their own straight from the slow cooker.

Tips for Perfect Biscuits

Use cold heavy cream for the best texture.

Do not overmix the dough; gentle mixing keeps biscuits fluffy.

If you want extra golden tops, brush with cream twice (before and halfway through cooking).
