Slow Cooker 5-Ingredient Amish Cheeseburger Soup

Cook Time: 6–7 hours (low) or 3–4 hours (high)

 

 

 

Ingredients

1 ½ pounds ground beef (80–90% lean, raw)

4 cups low-sodium chicken broth

1 (10.5 oz / ~300 g) can condensed cream of potato soup

1 (10.5 oz / ~300 g) can condensed cheddar cheese soup

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (mild or sharp, packed)

(Optional toppings: extra cheese, green onions, dill pickles, ketchup, mustard)

 

 

 

 

Instructions

Add the beef

Place the raw ground beef into the slow cooker

Break it into large chunks (no need to fully crumble)

Pour in liquids

Add the chicken broth over the beef

Add soups

Spoon in the cream of potato soup

Add the cheddar cheese soup

Stir lightly

Gently mix everything together (it doesn’t have to be perfectly smooth)

Cook

Low: 6–7 hours

High: 3–4 hours

Break up beef

About halfway through (if possible), stir and break the beef into smaller pieces

Add cheese

In the last 20–30 minutes, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese

Let it melt into the soup

 

 

 

 

Final stir & serve

Stir until creamy and smooth

Taste and add salt/pepper if needed

How to Serve

Serve hot in deep bowls

Top with:

Extra shredded cheese

Chopped green onions

Dill pickles (for a true cheeseburger vibe!)

Tips for Best Results

If soup is too thick → add a splash of broth or milk

If too thin → cook uncovered for 15–20 minutes

For more flavor → add garlic powder or onion powder (optional)
