Total Time: 20 minutes

 Ingredients

1 pound (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on or off)

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon olive oil (prevents butter from burning)

3–4 garlic cloves, finely minced

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

¼ teaspoon paprika (optional, adds color and depth)

Salt, to taste

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (not powdered)

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional but recommended)

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp

Rinse shrimp under cold water and pat completely dry with paper towels.

Season lightly with salt, black pepper, and paprika if using.

Dry shrimp = better sear.

Heat the Pan

Place a large skillet over medium heat.

Add butter and olive oil. Let the butter melt completely and begin to foam slightly.

Sauté the Garlic

Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes.

Stir constantly for 20–30 seconds until fragrant.

Do not brown the garlic—it will turn bitter.

Cook the Shrimp

Arrange shrimp in a single layer in the skillet.

Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, flipping once.

Shrimp should turn pink, curl slightly, and become opaque.

Add Parmesan

Lower heat to medium-low.

Sprinkle Parmesan evenly over the shrimp.

Gently stir for 1 minute until the cheese melts and coats the shrimp in a creamy, buttery sauce.

Finish the Dish

Remove from heat.

Add parsley and lemon juice. Toss lightly.

Serve Immediately

Plate shrimp with lemon wedges on the side.

Pro Tips

Use freshly grated Parmesan for best melting and flavor.

Don’t overcook shrimp—they become rubbery quickly.

If sauce feels too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons warm cream or pasta water.

Variations

Creamy Version: Add ¼ cup heavy cream before Parmesan.

Extra Garlic: Use roasted garlic for a sweeter taste.

Herb Boost: Add thyme or basil.

Spicy: Increase red pepper flakes or add chili oil.
