Soft & Fluffy Pan Flatbread

Soft & Fluffy Pan Flatbread (No Oven) – Quick Homemade Skillet Bread
This soft pan flatbread is the kind of simple homemade bread that fills the kitchen with warmth without ever needing an oven. It’s soft, slightly chewy, and perfect for scooping sauces, wrapping fillings, or serving alongside soups and stews. With basic pantry ingredients and a hot pan, you get fresh bread in minutes.
Ingredients:
3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon instant yeast
2 tablespoons olive oil (or any neutral oil)
1 to 1¼ cups warm water (added gradually)
Instructions:
Activate and mix the dough
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Add olive oil and gradually pour in warm water while mixing until a soft dough forms.
Knead until smooth
Knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until it becomes soft, elastic, and slightly tacky but not sticky.
Let it rise
Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place for 45–60 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
Shape the flatbreads
Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each one into a thin round or oval shape.
Cook on the pan
Heat a dry skillet or non-stick pan over medium heat. Cook each flatbread for 1–2 minutes per side until golden spots appear and it puffs slightly.
Serve warm
Brush lightly with butter or olive oil if desired.
Serving Ideas:
These flatbreads are best served warm and soft. They pair perfectly with:
Hummus or yogurt dips
Soups and stews
Grilled meats or vegetables
Cheese and honey for a simple snack
Simple, fast, and incredibly versatile—this is the kind of bread you’ll find yourself making again and again.
