Southern 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Southern 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies (Old-Fashioned & Irresistible)

These classic Southern peanut butter cookies are the kind of simple, nostalgic treat that disappear faster than you can bake them. Made with just three pantry staples, they deliver that perfect balance of crisp edges and soft, chewy centers with deep peanut butter flavor in every bite. No flour, no butter—just pure, old-fashioned cookie magic.

They’re quick enough for busy afternoons, fun enough for kids to help with, and honestly a little dangerous because it’s almost impossible to stop at just one.

Ingredients (Makes about 18–24 cookies)

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix the dough:

In a medium bowl, combine peanut butter, sugar, and egg. Stir until smooth and fully blended. The dough will be thick and slightly sticky.

Shape the cookies:

Roll dough into small balls (about 1 tablespoon each) and place them on the baking sheet, leaving space between each one.

Create the classic pattern:

Press each cookie gently with a fork in a crisscross pattern, flattening them slightly.

Bake:

Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look soft—that’s perfect.

Cool:

Let them rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack. They firm up as they cool.

Serving Ideas

Enjoy them warm for that melt-in-your-mouth texture, or pack them into lunchboxes for a sweet surprise. They pair perfectly with cold milk, hot coffee, or even a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an easy dessert upgrade.

Simple, nostalgic, and dangerously good—these cookies are the kind you’ll find yourself baking on repeat.
