Golden Cheesy Chicken Puff Pie

A warm, flaky, and creamy chicken pie loaded with melted cheese and wrapped in buttery puff pastry. This comforting recipe is perfect for dinner, parties, or a cozy family meal that everyone will love!

 

 

 

Ingredients

460 g puff pastry (2 sheets)

250 g cooked chicken, shredded (or turkey strips)

200 g Havarti or mozzarella cheese, sliced or shredded

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 cup (240 ml) milk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon chopped parsley

1 egg, beaten (for brushing)

 

 

 

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).

In a pan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the onion until soft and fragrant.

Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually pour in the milk while stirring continuously until the sauce becomes creamy.

Add the shredded chicken, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix well, then remove from heat.

Roll out one sheet of puff pastry and place it into a greased baking dish.

Spread the creamy chicken mixture evenly over the pastry, then top generously with the cheese.

Cover with the second sheet of puff pastry and seal the edges with a fork.

Brush the top with beaten egg and make a few small slits to allow steam to escape.

Bake for 30–35 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.

 

 

 

Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
