Tuna Steaks with Creamy Garlic Sauce & Fresh Salad

Tuna Steaks with Creamy Garlic Sauce & Fresh Salad

A light yet flavorful dish that balances the rich taste of seared tuna with a zesty garlic sauce and a crisp garden salad. Perfect for a healthy lunch or a quick dinner.

Ingredients

For the Tuna Steaks:

2 fresh tuna steaks (6–8 oz each)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

1/2 cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt (for a lighter option)

2 garlic cloves, finely minced

1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Salad:

A mix of fresh greens (arugula, spinach, lettuce, or your favorite mix)

A handful of cherry tomatoes, halved

1 cucumber, thinly sliced

1 small red onion, thinly sliced

Olive oil and balsamic vinegar, for dressing

Instructions

Step 1 – Make the Garlic Sauce
In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt), minced garlic, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well blended. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve, allowing the flavors to develop.

Step 2 – Cook the Tuna Steaks
Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels, then season both sides with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the tuna steaks for 2–3 minutes on each side for a medium-rare finish. If you prefer your tuna more well done, cook a bit longer, but avoid overcooking to keep it tender.

Step 3 – Assemble the Salad
In a large bowl, toss together the mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, and red onion. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then toss again to coat evenly.

Step 4 – Serve & Enjoy
Arrange the seared tuna steaks on plates. Spoon the creamy garlic sauce over the fish or serve it on the side for dipping. Add a generous portion of the fresh salad to each plate for a complete, balanced meal.
