Ultimate Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

 

Crispy, buttery bread, gooey melted cheese, and all the classic flavors of your favorite pizza—these Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwiches are the best of both worlds. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or an indulgent snack, they’re quick to make and absolutely irresistible.

 

 

 

 

Ingredients

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

8 slices sturdy sandwich bread (such as sourdough or Italian bread)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup shredded provolone cheese

¼ cup pizza sauce, plus extra for dipping

20–24 slices pepperoni

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

¼ teaspoon garlic powder

2 tablespoons olive oil (optional, for extra crispness)

Instructions

In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with the grated Parmesan cheese until well combined.

Spread the butter mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread.

Flip 4 slices over so the unbuttered side is facing up. Spread about 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce on each.

Sprinkle each with mozzarella and provolone cheese, then top with pepperoni slices.

Season with Italian seasoning and garlic powder for extra pizza flavor.

Place the remaining bread slices on top, buttered side facing outward.

Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.

Cook the sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and crispy and the cheese is fully melted.

Remove from the skillet and let rest for 1 minute before slicing.
