These crispy, cheesy pocket tacos are packed with seasoned beef, gooey melted cheese, and all your favorite taco flavors wrapped inside a golden tortilla. Perfect for busy weeknights, game days, or whenever you crave a fun and delicious homemade meal!

Ingredients

For the Filling

1 lb (450 g) ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 packet taco seasoning

½ cup tomato sauce or salsa

Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Pocket Tacos

6 large flour tortillas

2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese

1 cup crushed tortilla chips

½ cup sour cream

1 cup lettuce, shredded

1 tomato, diced

Jalapeño slices (optional)

Butter or oil for brushing

 

 

 

 

Instructions

Cook the Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until browned. Drain excess grease if needed. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Season the Filling

Stir in taco seasoning and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes until thick and flavorful.

Assemble the Tacos

Lay each tortilla flat. Add a layer of cheese, spoon in the beef mixture, then top with crushed tortilla chips and more cheese.

Fold into Pockets

Fold the tortillas tightly into pocket shapes by folding in the sides and rolling them closed.

Cook Until Crispy

Brush lightly with butter or oil. Cook in a skillet, air fryer, or oven at 400°F (200°C) for 8–10 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Add Toppings

Open slightly and fill with lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, and jalapeños if desired.
